With a few simple, daily techniques, you can boost your child’s creativity, making learning technical concepts much easier and, more importantly, fun.
Today, I want to share with you the story of one of my students, Arjun, and the techniques I used to help him. These strategies can be implemented at home every day—and they can make a world of difference in how your child approaches learning.

Arjun, a 12-year-old boy I recently coached, loved technology. He was fascinated by robots, coding, and gadgets. But when it came to school, he found himself struggling. Finally, I introduced a fun, daily game to boost Arjun’s creativity: **The Out of the Box Game**. Every day, I would hand Arjun a common object, like a spoon or a notebook, and ask him to come up with as many creative uses for it as possible. This game wasn’t just about thinking outside the box; it was about training his brain to approach problems and concepts from multiple angles.
- Why it works: This game builds divergent thinking, a key component of creativity. When kids practice coming up with multiple uses for a simple object, they develop the ability to see problems from different perspectives, which is crucial for learning technical concepts.
- How you can apply this at home: Choose any common household item and challenge your child to come up with at least 10 different uses for it. The crazier the ideas, the better! This game stretches their thinking and trains them to approach learning creatively.
